Good Morning Super Students! Happy St. Patty's Day...
A few things this morning, please take care of everything you need to be prepared this morning, snack from lockers, morning work, pencils, books..etc We need to bring in WIDE MOUTH water bottles for the walk for life next week. We need 32 of them so if you have more than 1 please bring in for others. Gatorade works best for coins. Good Morning Super Students and Happy Ides of March. The Ides of March mark the new year in the Roman calendar, the day Julius Ceasar was killed marking the end of the Roman Republic and transitioning to the Roman Empire as we know it.
It feels good to be back, felt like a super long weekend. The sub gave a good report, thank you for the good day! Please make sure to begin morning work and take care of anything else that would mean being prepared. Let's make today a good one! Good Morning World Changers, Happy #PiDay, however, I am at home sick with my kiddos. The picture you see to the right was taken during our Friday night "Good Dinosaur" viewing party. Since then those smiles have turned to sick faces :(
Lots of information on the blog today so please refer back to it often if you are confused and help your classmates out to be independent learners today. Please make lunch choice, unstack chairs, grab breakfast and all that beginning of the day stuff to help the sub out. Jack or Keaton if you could please make sure lunch choice is taken care of and let the sub know who is absent that would be a huge help to them and run the lunch choices down to the kitchen. Happy #PiDay. In honor of Pi, if you don't know what that is refer your brain here, I am willing to buy the 4 students who can name the most digits of Pi successfully by Friday a pizza Pi(e) for lunch! Get memorizing! Another contest going on is March MATHness Bracket Challenge. I would like all of you to participate over the next several weeks. Follow the above link and click on the 5th Grade Bracket, save and open in notability so you can record your choices before you submit your bracket. You can not select a winner of either match up until you have played each game for at least 10 minutes! The goal is to practice and freshen up on a variety of skills we have learned this year. Please make sure to play the games at your level so they are in fact challenging you and play them honestly...not just clicking that isn't helping anyone. You have until April 15th, a whole month, to complete and play the 8 games so there isn't a rush! During math today you will have (2) 25 minutes choice blocks. During one of those blocks you need to do Math Practice, which is the algebra task cards from Friday. I don't care if they choose that first or second, up to you. Your second choice (yes there are actually choices for this one) will be to play a Math Game. It must be one of the games from the links posted above to work on either math facts, algebra equations or PEMDAS. Please remind your families of DARE graduation tomorrow night! I would love to see everyone there and get your families in on a huge class/family groupie for Twitter. Last challenge of the day, aren't you guys glad I am gone, look at all this work I am giving you :) You need to take at least 2 pictures showcasing what you learned or did today in SeeSaw. It can be something you learned in morning math, selfie with Mr. Parker and your art project, you taking down 3 helpings of lunch...whatever but something I can stay connected to you with here at home...the power of technology! Miss you all and wish I was there to help you learn today. Hopefully you can use this day as a step to becoming even more independent and take the things we have been working on the last few days, being PREPARED, to truly be independent learners today. If you have questions, email or post in the comment section and I will try and look at over lunch and respond before you go home. Good Morning Super Students, Happy Thursday and #nationalmeatball day! It looks to be a glorious weekend...highs in the 60's again. It is also the end of Tri-2, any missing assignments as of today will be recorded as a 0 on your report card.
We have book checkout this morning, please place your book on my desk after you make lunch choice and grab your breakfast. What does it mean to be prepared? On the white board, write how you will be prepared for life as a learner today? FYI - I just added an assignement for your algebra homework, upload that now!

I have been thinking long and hard about our morning routine and what has happened since the beginning of the year...we no longer have morning math work, allowing us to have a bit to much freedom in the mornings! Please head over to schoology and open the "Morning Work Pack 4" under the morning work folder :) and complete TUESDAY's work in notability. Help remind your friends...Let's make today is awesome! Good Morning World Changers! What a difference a few days makes in Minnesota. The end of last week barely makes it to 30 degrees and today we are expected to hit 65! That's right, no coats if you so choose at recess today.
Looking at the week ahead of us, the tri ends on Thursday, which means you get a day break on Friday!! Wednesday: Typing Club Thursday: Book Checkout, Continental Math League Meet Friday: No School |
