The Polar Plunge is coming to Sauk Centre next month. It is for an amazing cause, Central MN Special Olympics! If you are interested, click on the photo to take you to their homepage. I will be unable to attend this year, my bowling will bring me to North Dakota that weekend sadly but I would love to hear of someone that goes!

Goodness gracious, who knew keeping pencils sharpened, quiet and available was such a task!? But it seems like every year it's one of the biggest distractions in a classroom. To poke a little fun at the situation all while having a good time and teaching some responsibility, our class has taken the "Great Pencil Challenge". I have sharpened, numbered and distributed "special" pencils to everyone. We put away all of our broken and tattered ones for now. The goal is simple, keep your pencil for one week! We will then extend it to another week and so on. If someone loses their pencil by Friday, check in day, they will be given a new one to start the next week but will not be able to add their name to that weeks challenge winners.
