Good Morning Super Students, Happy Thursday (Day 2). Chinese will be happening after our morning meeting and some discussion this morning about sportsmanship. I posted the rooms for One District One Book on the bulletin board by the menu. If you need a reminder of who your teacher is you can find it there.

I was also thinking, that you can probably leave your iPad home tomorrow because you won't need it in the other rooms, all the activities we are doing don't use them.

Response Question (Please respond in the comment section with full sentences)
I heard a story on the news this morning about a girls basketball team in California that beat another team 161 - 2. A few questions to reflect on: Do you think the score should have ever got that high? Do you think that team took it to far and should have let up? What would you do or feel like if you were on the losing team in that situation? And finally, what could you do as an athlete if you are on a team that is winning by a ridiculous amount? Have you were been part of a situation like that, either on the winning or maybe on the losing end of it?

Today is a day 4, art with the fantastic Mr. Parker.

We are going to be focusing on our portfolios and something called "growth mindset" this morning. Please take a second to look over the image below and save it, and upload to your portfolio as practice.

Good Morning Super Students, happy National Peanut Butter Day. Do you like your peanut butter smooth and creamy or rich and chunky?

Ms. Hopper has put together a pretty cool form to help us think about what type of contributor we are in the classroom, please take time this morning to fill it out completely and with awesome sentence structure! Link is here!

Book Check out as well! Put your books on my desk.

Good Morning World Changers! MAPs math testing will take place this morning around 9:30. Some of you are finished, you will just need to read a book while the other kids test. If you have not finished your reading, we will do that after WIN time, along with anyone who has not finished the reading portion.

Book checkout is tomorrow. Remember, Ms. Opatz will not take any books at the time of checkout. You must check them in either today or tomorrow morning in our bin.

The District Spelling Bee will be Monday Night at 6:30. If you would like to go and watch Owen and AJ compete, I am sure they would love your support.

Math Practice
I am working on sending a package to my aunt Jennie and it needs to be filled with those plastic white things. I bought special ones in the shape of cubes so they could be stacked. If the box is 5.5 inches wide, 6 inches high and 3.5 inches long. How many plastic cubed peanuts could I fit in my package if it was empty?

Good Morning Super Students!  Congrats first of all to the 5 spellers from our class that represented us well! A special congrats to Owen for out spelling some terrific spellers yesterday as well and being named the PV Champion.

Super fun day today! We are not going to switch at all and use that time to catch up on homework, D.A.R.E essays and MAPs testing. We will then be watching the movie "Akleeh and the Bee" with all the other 5th graders.

You may also want to log in to your self-service and download the "SEESAW" app, we are going to set up our accounts! Super excited to start that journey with you.

Good Morning World Changers! An extremely busy day is ahead of us. Please make lunch choice, hand in any yearbook orders and finish your morning work!

We also have book check out at 8:00, put books in the return bin. We will then take MAPs around 9:30, please check your iPad battery and turn pop-ups off if you changed that setting. We will not be switching either, using that time to work on DARE essays in here instead. And then around 1:15 we will head to the cafeteria for the school spelling bee!

Math Practice

Good Morning Super Students! Thank you Mr. Lambrecht (Mia's dad) for joining our classroom today and being such an awesome dad! We hope you enjoy your visit to PV. A few reminders about tomorrow: book check out at 8, MAPs reading at 9:30, and Spelling Bee at 1:15 if you'd like to remind your parents of any of those things.

Make sure your iPad is charged for tomorrow, is here and you have eaten a good breakfast to prepare for testing.

Mr. Heideman's classes will be testing this morning and afternoon so we need to make sure we give them the respect and quietness they deserve.

Math Practice
Yesterday you drew a net for a pentagonal prism, find one other way to make a net for the same figure. (You can't just move one pentagon :)

Good Morning! Please check your iPad battery and make sure it is 40% +. If it is not, come see me and we need to charge it while you are at specialist.

Exciting football game last night for those of you who stayed up super late to watch it. Alabama ended up beating Clemson for the national title, 45 - 40.

Math Practice
Draw a net for a pentagonal prism either in a notebook or on your iPad
