Good Morning Super Students!
Come on in, get settled and enjoy the day of ODOB activities. I have created a word find in schoology in the homeroom folder...download to notability! I have a OBOB riddle for you: What has 12 legs, six eyes, three tails, and can't see? The answer may help to know what type of animal the main character is! Good Morning Super Students!
Happy 1/2 birthday to Alex today. We may not be able to celebrate your birthday this summer but we have a chance today :) Make sure your penpal letters are available today as we will have some time to discuss how to write a formal letter response and address it to them, due Friday. Please come in and find a seat today...I will be moving some of you this morning for new spots, thank you for being accepting of where your new home will be. Tuesday - Wednesday - PATH taping show (11:15) Thursday - Makers Space, Anna Marie's Presentation (10:40), Vision Screening, remember to bring your glasses!
Good Morning Super Students!
Please begin your morning work after you have downloaded the "Day 4" practice in unit 6 for today so that we are prepared and can rock and roll! We have book checkout at 11:30 today, please place your library books on the cart for Amy to pick up. We are going to try really hard today to talk about good fit books and that we have something challenging enough. Junior Achievment is also at 10:30 today so our morning will go super fast and not much room for math today which is why I need you to download that this morning. Remind your table members! Let's make today a good one. Here at PV we know that space is limited! Ms. Froiland has done a tremendous job using our space wisely for classrooms and such. I am always trying to find new ways in the room to "create" more space for all of you to work and be more efficient, which is why we are designing iPad storage! However, look at our cubbies Look at all the wasted space! Could we possibly store something else in there to use the space better? Perhaps tissues? How many boxes of tissues could we fit into one of our cubbies?

Today is yet another opportunity to show the world what you know. You will get to take the MAP math assessment this morning. As you work your way through it, take your time, breathe, and use all those tools you know you have to manipulate those numbers :) Yesterday was also Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A day we stop and remember a brave and well spoken man, who stood up for millions of americans and the injustices that were shown to them. Click on the link in the sentence and read the article. In the comment section of the blog, ask an "I wonder why....." question.

Welcome back to another great week! As part of my new year, new goal personal theme, I am trying to stick to being more PREPARED! I would like to try and take care of any weekly stuff on the first day of the week so we can set our agenda for the week and we all know where we are going and when! I would greatly appreciate any COMMENTS about times you have things this week. Examples include: Logic, StuCo, groups, appointments, vacations....etc Ms. Strack would like you to have HEADPHONES when you go to reading today. I will also try and send home new Deep Portage reminders today if I have time during lunch. Let's make today a great one! Morning work is going to be found in Schoology ---> Math ---> Morning Work ---> January (We are on week 16...skip to that one and begin there!) Good Morning Super Students! Another busy Friday is upon us. Today is a day 3, Phy Ed. You can either change your gym shoes this morning or when we head down.
We also have Junior Achievement coming around 11:00. Junior Achievment is a program where a volunteer from a local business comes in for about 40 mins once a week for 6 weeks. She will be discussing some business, economic and real world problem solving skills. It's always been a fun and interactive time! We will also be taking the Round 1 Spelling Bee words on paper today and breaking it down to the top 16...we will then have an oral Round 2 this afternoon to figure out our top 5 spellers that will move on to the school Bee next Wednesday. Remember you can invite your families next week if you make it. Let's make today awesome! BTW it may be a good idea to work on your keynote this morning...I will skip problem of the day but the expectation is your're using that time to work on your project! Good Morning Super Students! Today is a day 2 (art) and I received a coconut...check it out on my table :)
We also have book checkout at 11:30, please put your books on the cart for Amy during WIN time.
