Good Morning World Changers! Another beautiful winter day is upon us, you still need coats don't be fooled! Looking over a few of the math quick checks I have got back, they look pretty solid!
Music today, please bring your iPad as usual. If you don't have it make sure to talk to us right away in the morning so we can help prepare you for class. Problem of the Day I was baking a pie last week for Thanksgiving. I needed a bunch of flour for the crust. The recipe calls for 3 1/4 cups flour. I only had 5/6 of a cup in my cupboard. How much more flour did I need to either buy or borrow?

Good Morning Super Students! As you may have noticed, I am not quite here yet. My car didn't want to cooperate this morning and had a few problems...long story short, Ms. Schiffler will be dropping me off around 7:30. Until then, go about your day as normal: lunch choice, chairs down, someone write the agenda and change dates (Phy Ed today), breakfast, sharpen pencils, get PREPARED for the day!
PROBLEM OF THE DAY So, my Volkswagen Jetta had this fancy "EPC" light come on this morning. Assuming that when your car sputters and lights blink at you, you shouldn't probably drive it. I was however able to make it 1/6 of the way to school before this happened. List 3 equivalent fractions as to how far I made it before my car died this morning in the comment section!

Welcome back after a crazy weekend of weather...ready for round 2 tomorrow? Families, please help your child remember to bring boots, gloves, and mittens to school each day as I am sure we won't top 50 again until next spring. We will have science express this morning at 8:30 because we missed it on Friday. We also have a very special surprise for Ellen today at around 11:45 because this is her last week with us. Ellen has been part of this district longer than any current employee, she will be missed! We also have the pleasure of doing WAEL this week. You will go to the TECH room where Ms. Hopper usually is and practice a few minutes before it is live. PROBLEM OF THE DAY (REAL ISSUE...I NEED HELP!) We have 21 days were we need to produce WAEL. There are 29 students who would like to do WAEL and 3 kids can go per day. How many days will each student get to go? Some kids may not get to go twice or three times....? Good Morning Super Students! DARE day today and remember book check out tomorrow!
Strack's class and ours....please swing by the front of the room and check the lost and found, its extremely full. After today it goes in the garbage or school lost and found! PROBLEM OF THE DAY If I bought 3/4 of a pound of popcorn and Ms. Schiffler bought 3/5 of a pound of popcorn. How much did we buy all together? Good Morning World Changers!
Welcome back! Today is the last day to turn in any Unity Day shirt orders to the office. Also, tonight is the school board meeting where a few of your fellow classmates will be recognized for their leadership they provide here at PV. Wish them luck tonight because they will be presenting in front of the SRR School Board! Book checkout has moved to Wednesday this week because of the late start on Friday. We will also finish our Veterans Day projects from Friday if you were wondering. I will also know you are ready for math and read the blog this morning if you have downloaded the Unit 4, "Adding and subtracting decimal Ad Task" into notability so we are ready to move in math today! Reading Logs and choice activity are also due for Ms. Strack, use your time very wisely this morning, remind you're friends to read the blog! PROBLEM OF THE DAY Use a website similar to this to learn about the Girl Scouts of America: http://www.girlscouts.org/en/about-girl-scouts/who-we-are/facts.html Find out how many women alive today were once Girl Scouts in America. Assuming that the women were evenly divided over all the states in the United States, how many women today that were once involved in Girl Scouts live in each state. Good Morning Super Students,

Ms. Strack's Class, you have book checkout today...friendly reminder! Also tomorrow is a 2 hour late start, please make sure you have arrangements made to get to school but also have a place to go for 2 hours until school begins. Today is Unity Day! A day to STOP, THINK and celebrate our differences. With the election behind us, there has been so much talk about so many huge issues surrounding our country and all the different people that make it great. PV is no different, we are like a melting pot of central Minnesota...people of all races, religions, and backgrounds!
