Good Morning Super Students!
Today is book checkout with Mrs. Bakke. We need to place our books on the book cart where breakfast extras go so someone can run them over to Mrs. Opatz at 7:50. Please grab your books! It is also a Phy Ed day, dismiss yourself at 10:20 to get your shoes on. If you have any communication forms, papers for the office etc....please get those into the inbox as I need to ask for extras today if they are not in. Good Morning World Changers!
Another round of MAP testing this morning at 7:50, quick start to our morning! Please see yesterdays message for the procedures you need to complete. Once you have all of them done flip your iPad over and grab a book as well to read if you happen to finish. Today is a day 3, Phy Ed. If you need to change your gym shoes please excuse yourself from class at 10:20 to put your shoes on and use the bathroom. We will meet you down there at that time. Let's make today a good one! Good Morning Super Students,
No task this morning and we will not have a morning meeting this morning either. See below. DARE will begin today in Mrs. Hopper's room though at 11:10. We will be MAP testing very quickly this morning at 7:50. Our window is only open for exactly 1:10, until 9:00 so it is important we are prepared this morning. You can do that by:
Good Morning Super Students!
Your first opportunity to use your iPads in the morning, How I would like that to look is when you come into the room, continue doing a great job with making your lunch choice, grabbing water, using the bathroom etc but with the iPad in the mix you can read the morning message at your spot. If there is a task I ask you to complete you may keep it turned over and complete the task using your iPad. You may also use it to read a book once we get open ebooks or turn in assignments....THAT'S IT! Todays task: I would like to know what the height of both former World Trade Center buildings (twins towers) together and then multiplied by 8 is. Post your answer in the comment sections of the blog. Your comment should include your product and you may use ONE emoji to display your feeling about how you felt about the task! Good Morning Super Students and former Super Students!
It's been awesome to see so many of you from prior years posting in the comments! We have yet to get our iPads so my students have not used that feature yet! Today is a day 4 in our world, Phy Ed by ourselves today. We will get our iPads on Monday for sure and you will be able to take them home at that time. Remind your families if they have not bought insurance or signed the forms to do so by Monday the 11th. Also, Monday is September 11...what is the significance of that date? Good Morning Future World Changers!
Another awesome day yesterday! Way to embrace the challenge that has been fifth grade and figure out switching, lockers, transitions...etc. Today will be exactly like yesterday with the exception of Phy Ed. I will try and let those of you that have shoes to change leave a little bit early. Please help remind me. If you have any "homework" from your families or job applications place them into our inbox. I would like you to think about ONE thing you dream about being when you get older to share during WHIP share. See you at morning meeting at 7:40 Good Morning Super Students!
Welcome back for day 2! It is going to be another day full of things to try and remember. We are in full switching mode today...Mrs. Hopper first, then back to our room and then over to Mrs. Bakke for reading before lunch. We are all in the same boat, don't be nervous and ask lots of questions! We have Chinese/media today. I will explain later why we have both on the same day. As you come in, please make breakfast choice, work on your "brain", use the bathroom, make lunch choice....etc Good morning future world changers!
I can't even believe this day has finally arrived! I woke up at 4:30 this morning...no alarm, no reminder just because of pure excitement to meet all of you and begin what is sure to be a great year. Any Schiffler alumni that are headed back to the middle school today, have a great day, you will be missed. Embrace the challenge that middle school will be and never stop being a risk taker. Wish everyone else well that may not check the blog! As you come in a few things you need to do. If you were not here on Wednesday night you have a few extra!
Good Morning from Vegas! I am so sorry I forgot to post on the blog yesterday morning. When I got up at 6 am I realized Minnesota time is two hours ahead of me. Meaning it was 8 am your time and I missed the beginning of class.
Anyway, I hope all of your MAP tests have started good. Remember, it's these last few problems that can really be the difference makers. You never know when that one question is going to give you enough to meet or not meet your own personal goals! #finishstrong Your day will look like this day: 7:50-9:05 - MAP Math 9:05 - Bathroom Break 9:30ish - Begin working on your math. We are going to begin some work on fractions again, probably our most needed area. Remember, find all the multiples of your denominators first, then figure out what you multiplied your original denominator by to get the new one and multiple that top by that to create your new fractions. Then the rest is a piece of cake 9:50 - Art 10:30 - Reading 11:40 - Materials away get ready for lunch 11:55 - Lunch 1:00 - Math work time (use wisely, there are 24 problems...you don't want tons of homework) Everything you need is in the Tuesday Sub folder for this assignment (even a notes sheet attached) Once you finish turn that in by Wednesday evening. If you are done early I slid a link to some online practice or you can use the fractions dice with a partner to create problems...maybe race each other!? 1:30 - Coding - Swift play-groud or Code.org 2:05 - Clean up Remember all Library books are due as well...get those things in! On a side note, bowling is going ok...a few of my teammates have taken over the leads is different events, our team bowled last night and we are in 21st place...which doesn't sound awesome but that is out of 12,000 teams! Hope you all have a great day and talk to via the blog again tomorrow. Be on the PATH and most importantly be respectful while the sub is there. |
