Good Morning Super Students!
The lunch choice for this week when it says "Managers Choice" is as follows: May 25th will be: Fish Sticks w/Rice Meat Ball Sub Cheese Salad May 27th will be: Turkey Chunks and Gravy w/ Potatoes and a Biscuit Hot Ham and Cheese Breaded Chicken Caesar Salad Thank you for another great day yesterday, you continue to give me a million reasons to miss you all this summer! I saw a ton of sportsmanship at wiffleball and kickball and heard from numerous teachers how helpful the fifth graders were :) Your legacy continues to be shaped each day and the one you will leave at PV is going to be a great one! The last student council meeting will be taking place this Friday at 1:30 in the cafeteria with Ms. Froiland. Just make sure to check in with me before you head down.
Good Morning Super Students!
Please keep your cold lunches in your lockers until we go outside for the picnic. If you signed up for a cold lunch from school you will be picking it up in the cafeteria when we walk down. If you forgot a lunch please tell me immediately as we need to ask the lunch room if they have extra. We will also be heading over to the book fair around 8:15. Remember you pay for the most expensive book and then get one of equal or lesser value free. There are no returns on books so please make sure you like what you buy! Activity day will begin at 12:30 with rotations happening every 30 minutes. There isn't really any time between rotations so you will need to hustle to your next course. Ms. Froiland wanted me to remind everyone of PATH expectations as you transition as well because K-2 will be having class in their pods and the media center so we need to make sure we walk quietly through the halls! We will be eating lunch at 10:40 - 11:30 Also, if you were on Cooper's team for the Deal or No Deal I still owe you a soda for lunch. Come see me with your choice. Good Morning Future World Changers!
Happy last Monday of the year! The BOGO bookfair begins today, however, we will be going tomorrow morning at 8:00 for 20 minutes. If you would like to bring money that would be a perfect time to purchase something. Otherwise write what you would like down and bring money Wednesday and I will let you go during math in the afternoon. Remember BOGO means that you pay for the highest price item and then get something of equal or lesser value FREE. Tomorrow is also the activity day that you earned through filling up the PATH bucket! Amazing all of the positive things we have done this year as a school and how quickly they add up! Remember to bring proper shoes if you are doing things like wiffle or kickball outside. The weather looks like it should cooperate enough to go outside and enjoy the day! Also, remember this Friday is iPad checkin day. You will need to turn in your iPad, charging brick and any other accessories you may have that day. We will log out of iTunes and backup your iPads that day! Good Morning Super Students! Happy Friyay! We are going to have a bunch of fun today and work on our "How to vidoes" and our 5th Grade Memory books (See below!). If you are a morning field day helper you need to be down in the gym by 8:00! If you are a afternoon worker you need to be in the gym by 11:45, I will figure out lunch for you! Have fun and remember to be cheerleaders! MAPs testing is at 10:00 today. You will need to have your iPad charged to 30%, a book, a sharp pencil and I will grab you scrap paper. Please download the below file into notability.
Good Morning Super Students!
I had an awesome time Friday evening. It was good to see so many of you running through the halls and working as a team to complete the amazing race. My favorite part of the whole evening was the slide show put together by Ashley, Ellie and Riley. The beginning of the year seems like such a long time ago and it reminded me of all the things we have accomplished/experienced together...truly an amazing year! This week is full of more opportunities to experience things together..MAPs testing Tuesday and Friday, Field Day Wednesday, YaYa Conference Thursday...etc If you were not able to attend the Lock in on Friday night I grabbed a few extra prizes from our BINGO game. Come see me if you were not there and you can grab a drink and free movie rental off my desk. We are going be going over addition and subtraction of fractions plus some decimal math this week...prepare yourself. Let's make today a good one! I would also like to announce that today will begin our "Schiffler's Year End Double Elimination Cribbage Extravaganza!" We will draw for seedings this morning and play throughout the day. Today is the only day we will have real class time dedicated to playing. After today all matches will need to be made up during morning breakfast, recess or when you are completed with an assignment! However, you will not be able to compete in the tournament until your math project has been completed! Good Morning Super Students!
FYI the K-3 field day has been changed from this Friday to next Friday as the fields are to wet and may not dry out by then. Those of you that were suppose to help will still be able to do that, just next Friday. Doing some reflecting on my drive home yesterday, I realized I was very frustrated the last few days with how class has been running. I understand it's Spring, I understand testing is over, I understand you are ready to move on and be middle schoolers but let's work together to live in the moment and not let this time pass us by. What I mean by that is let's enjoy these last few weeks of school, let's work hard! And then, you can do all the running, yelling, sitting and relaxing you want for 3 months before next year. P.A.T.H. to think about Prepared: Making sure we have things from our lockers, bins, and we have used the bathroom at appropriate times. I will not be letting you leave the room for any reason these next few weeks, to much class time is lost. Accepting: Let's accept the fact we have 3 weeks of school left, there is no fighting it! So let's choose to have a growth mindset, be positive about the situation and think "hey, I only have 3 weeks left in Schiffler's class and the elementary, I may really miss this place so I am going to make sure I leave a good legacy behind" Trustworthy: Being true to yourself and trusting that you are making the right decisions! There have been a lot of questionable choices made the past few days and I feel they have been influenced by the people around us. Trust you can make a good choice, you all have the tools! Helpful: We need to take care of our selves #1, but at the same time we can be helping others around us. Which means, the classroom is yours, not mine! Making sure your area is clean (floor and desk), items are returned to their homes, chairs are stacked, lockers are clean, iPads are where they need to be! If you are going to make the choice to not put something away, then please make the choice to not take it in the first place! |
